Invisalign Clear Teeth Aligners

Invisalign is a treatment for misaligned teeth introduced to the dental industry back in the 1990s. At the time, it revolutionized the industry as it gave orthodontists an option to offer their patients. The new treatment eliminated the need for wires and metal brackets attached to your teeth. Rather, Invisalign uses clear plastic teeth aligners placed inside your mouth over your teeth. Dentists do not permanently attach them to your teeth. So you can remove them at any time. However, you should wear these precisely measured and crafted trays for at least 22 hours a day.

Invisalign is the latest technology advancement that arms your dentist or orthodontist with tools to help you restore your smile. Also, it eliminates the need to return to the office to adjust the wires. Instead, you pick up your new teeth aligner from the office every couple of weeks. These precisely fitted trays make tiny adjustments to the positioning of your teeth. The Invisalign name describes it best: it is an invisible teeth aligner. No longer will you need to worry about elastic breaking and misplaced wire. When your prescribed treatment plan is over, you will have the straight and natural smile you always wanted.

Digital Impressions for Invisalign

Our team will precisely measure the inside of your mouth with the latest 3D imaging technology. As a result, the team determines your type of teeth misalignment. Therefore, you will no longer have to suffer from goopy traditional impression material in your mouth. Instead, a small scanner will rapidly take thousands of pictures inside your mouth. Finally, it puts them together to make a perfect digital model of your teeth.

Invisalign Clear Braces vs. Traditional Braces

Invisalign clear braces correct many orthodontic problems. But Traditional metal braces are still often necessary to correct more complex alignment and bite issues. Our dentist will give you the best recommendation after thoroughly examining your mouth and evaluating your adjustment needs.

Since Invisalign braces are removable, you can take them off to eat and enjoy your favourite foods. You cannot do this with traditional braces. Also, you can remove them to brush your teeth and floss, not worrying about food debris getting trapped between the wires and the brackets on your teeth.

The Process of Getting Invisalign

Generally, the process of getting Invisalign is simple. First, you will set up a consultation appointment to ensure you are a good candidate for Invisalign and that your end goal is feasible with Invisalign treatment. Then, once you are established as a candidate, our dentist will provide you with your treatment plan estimate. And she will answer all your questions. If treatment is accepted, our dentist will take impressions of the teeth and lower and upper jaws and document external and intraoral photos of your smile and teeth. After that, she will submit your case to Invisalign and a complete treatment plan. And our dentist will estimate your treatment duration. After careful revision and consideration of the treatment plan, Dr. Yarahmadi will approve the manufacturing of your teeth aligners. It typically takes about 2-3 weeks.
Immediately after the custom teeth aligners are made, you will have an appointment to put them on. Our dentist will put some small tooth-coloured resin attachments onto some of your teeth according to your treatment plan. Afterwards, your Invisalign clear dental aligners will snap onto these and provide subtle pressure to help move the teeth throughout the teeth straightening process. For one to two weeks, the dental aligners will be worn before switching to the next set. And the teeth will gradually move until you wear all dental aligners, achieving the best possible result. Exact instructions are on a case-by-case basis. Dr. Katy Yarahmadi, the DDS, will supply them at delivery time.

Advantages of Invisalign
Easy Oral Hygiene

Keeping your teeth clean is easy with Invisalign. Since you can take out these plastic dental aligners, brushing and flossing regularly is easy. Because the Invisalign treatment plan lets you take out your clear teeth aligners before eating and drinking, less food gets stuck between your teeth. It also helps prevent prospective tooth problems like cavities.

Convenience

Your Invisalign aligners will be given to you by our dentist in sets. After that, our dentist will see you every four to six weeks to ensure your adjustment is in progress. She will give you a new set of Invisalign aligners throughout your treatment progress. Traditional braces typically require a few additional orthodontists’ visits to make adjustments.

Comfort

Invisalign clear aligners are sleek and smooth and fit snugly over the teeth. Because of this, they don’t really bother the inside of your mouth or your gums. When you first put on a new set, your teeth may be a little sore as they move to fit the new clear aligners. But the pain doesn’t last long.

Aesthetics

Invisalign clear plastic aligners are barely visible to others because they fit snugly over teeth. Although they have the same result, metal braces are more evident to others, especially the traditional brace, bracket, and metal wire appliances. On the one hand, other clear braces options like lingual braces and ceramic braces are also less noticeable. On the other hand, they still require more hardware than Invisalign.

As a result, Invisalign braces are the ideal solution for persons with minor alignment issues since they provide a convenient and aesthetically pleasing technique to achieve a healthy, happy smile!

FAQs

Invisalign teeth straightening is fast. Although the length of treatment depends on your teeth and jaw, most adults can see their new smile in as little as a year. Teenagers who have Invisalign braces tend to need a little longer, usually 12-16 months. Your treatment will be more efficient if you follow the treatment plan more faithfully. Invisalign trays should generally be worn 20-22 hours a day, which means they should be removed only during flossing, brushing, or eating.
